THE LAGOS FASHION AND DESIGN WEEK
The Lagos fashion week event occurs yearly. This year’s runway show opened on 25th October 2018 at Prince Alba Oniru Way, Victoria Island Lagos. The Lagos Fashion Week is a fashion platform that drives the Nigerian and ultimately, the African fashion industry; by bringing together buyers, consumers and the media to view the current collections of designers in the fashion capital of Lagos, Nigeria.
Thus, beyond the runway, Lagos fashion week provides a physical platform, that’s gradually re-positioning fashion as a useful tool for commerce and creativity in Nigeria.
The platform aims to cut across geographic and cultural barriers. It positions itself as a business of fashion and design event, which is targeted at showcasing the best of the fashion and design industry to drive the fashion industry in Nigeria and ultimately uplift its profile within the economy.

The DEW collection by Betty Irabor for health awareness showed at the Lagos fashion week. The mental health awareness was in a different form but yet, very fashionable, educating and entertaining. It was supported and sponsored by some of the most creative designers in Nigeria.

The aim of DEW collection for mental health was to further the awareness with a view to reducing the stigma.
